Job summary
BorgWarner’s Indiana Technical Center in Kokomo seeks a Thermal Analysis Engineer to provide CFD/thermal CAE support for new product development and improvements. Under the CAE Manager, you will execute advanced analyses of electric motors and drive systems, develop predictive tools, and communicate results to stakeholders.
The role requires a BSME (MSME preferred) with 5–8 years of CFD experience, CAD/CAE proficiency, and collaboration in a global team.
Qualifications
- BSME degree required; MSME degree preferred
- Specialization in thermal sciences preferred
- 5–8 years of experience recommended
- Experience using CFD to solve thermal design problems required
- Proficiency with CAD/CAE tools (NX/Creo/ProE or Ansys) required
- Familiarity with Ansys MotorCAD and FEA preferred
- Experience in multiphysics simulation is a plus
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Responsibilities
- Provide CFD simulations of electric motors and drive systems
- Perform heat transfer and thermal analysis using ANSYS
- Verify results with hand calculations and experience
- Propose design changes to meet requirements
- Write test plans and coordinate data collection and calibration
- Develop tools to improve predictive engineering capabilities
- Write CAE project reports and procedures
- Present findings to internal and external customers
- Collaborate with global teams on international projects
