About the Role

As a Thermal Analysis Engineer at Sierra Space, you will lead and contribute to advanced thermal analysis projects, applying your expertise in vehicle-level analysis and system design to develop effective thermal solutions. You will work autonomously, applying aerospace principles and standards to complex challenges, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and providing technical leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead detailed thermal analyses and support the development of thermal systems for aerospace applications.
2. Apply aerospace principles, standards, theories, and first-order analysis to solve complex problems.
3. Conduct vehicle-level analysis and system design, ensuring thermal system integration and performance.
4. Develop and present technical data, reports, and analyses to support projects and decision-making.
5. Determine and implement technical approaches autonomously, providing innovative solutions.
6. Collaborate with teams to integrate thermal solutions into system designs.
7. Participate in technical reviews, project meetings, and strategy sessions, offering insights and driving excellence.
8. Communicate complex concepts clearly to internal teams, senior engineers, and external stakeholders.
9. Mentor less experienced engineers, fostering professional growth.

About You

• Principal Level: Bachelor's + 12+ years of related experience.
• Expertise in thermal analysis and vehicle-level system design.
• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with thermal analysis software (Thermal Desktop, SINDA/FLUINT, ANSYS, COMSOL).
• Proficiency in programming languages (Python, MATLAB).
• Experience with thermal testing and validation techniques.
• Knowledge of spacecraft thermal control systems.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proven leadership in technical projects.

Pay Range:

Level II: $91,905 - $126,390

Level III: $116,050 - $159,555

Senior Level: $137,610 - $189,227.50

Principal Level: $165,165 - $227,122.50

Additional Information:

This role requires an active U.S. Security Clearance (Top Secret with SCI eligibility). U.S. citizenship is required.
