Job summary

St. James Parish Hospital in Lutcher, LA is seeking a Therapy Technician to support therapy services by transporting patients, setting up treatments, and assisting therapists in an interdisciplinary environment.

This full-time role requires a high school diploma and BLS certification, with preferred healthcare experience. You will help maintain treatment areas, perform clerical tasks, and contribute to quality improvement under licensed supervision.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Review therapy schedule, plan and provide appropriate patient transportation.
• Treatment setup/preparation and conclusion activities as directed by the therapist and in accordance with guidelines.
• Assist with routine exercises as directed by the therapist.
• Assist with transfers and observation of the patient during care when additional support is needed.
• Ensure equipment is cleaned and the treatment area is kept clean and organized.
• Maintain open communication with supervising therapists.

Description

The Therapy Technician shall be responsible for providing transport of patients to and from therapy and other activities, assistance in maintaining treatment areas, and conducting clerical tasks in an interdisciplinary environment consistent with professional practices and ethical standards (works with direction, guidance, and direct/’ line of sight observation ’ by a licensed therapist). The Therapy Tec h shall also demonstrate accountability for and contribution to program development, quality improvement, problem solving and productivity enhancement in a flexible interdisciplinary fashion

Job Duties:

• Review therapy schedule, plan and provide appropriate patient transportation
• Treatment setup/preparation and conclusion activities are carried out as directed by the therapist and in accordance with the most stringent of regulating guidelines
• Assists with routine, standardized exercises as directed by the treating therapist.
• Assists with transfers, standing activities , observation of patient during care when the patient requires additional support.
• E nsure e quipment is cleaned thoroughly as scheduled and treatment area is kept in a clean and organized fashion.
