Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a healthcare support professional to work under direct on-premises supervision of a licensed therapist. You will perform assigned therapeutic modalities, prepare therapy areas, transport patients, and maintain a safe environment in accordance with infection control and policy guidelines.

Requirements include a high school diploma (some college in healthcare preferred) and the ability to travel between facilities.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with computers, software, and web-based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication with diverse patients and staff.
• Ability to travel between facilities as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains work area for treatment including ordering of supplies/linen and pharmaceuticals.
• Orients and mentors new staff in needs of assigned area.
• Monitors and assists in patient-care as instructed by the therapist.
• Assists with general office and front desk procedures.
• Transports patients to and from department or room via wheelchair or stretcher.
• Adapts communication and service style to patient needs and privacy requirements.
