Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a patient care assistant to support the delivery of care under the direction of the registered nurse in a hospital setting. You will assist with care, collaborate with the primary nurse and physician to establish goals, and contribute to the treatment plan with observations.

You will follow guidelines, may perform one-to-one activities, group activities, and participate in group therapy as directed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in psychology or sociology or related field required.
• BLS certification required; CPI preferred.
• Ability to travel between facilities.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care under the direction of the registered nurse.
• Assists in implementing care and physical management of the patient.
• Collaborates with the primary nurse and physician to establish goals for patients.
• Provides input into the treatment plan by sharing observations with team members.
• Follows guidelines in carrying out the patient treatment plan under supervision.
