Job summary

Cynet Health in Missouri is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant for a 13-week therapy assignment in a long-term care setting. You will support the supervising Physical Therapist with rehabilitative interventions, ambulation, and therapeutic exercises, and document patient progress in the clinical record.

Active state PTA licensure is required, along with 1 year PTA experience and LTC/SNF experience. The role follows days shifts, 8 hours per shift, Monday through Friday, with standard facility

Responsibilities

Description:Utilizes evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions.Provides rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with physical functioning disorders under the supervision and direction of a Physical Therapist.Administers various procedures as part of the rehabilitation plan including but not limited to manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices.Assesses patient progress and communicates with the supervising Physical Therapist to adjust treatments accordingly in the clinical record.Reports effectiveness of treatment outcomes to the supervising Physical Therapist.Provides consultation and counseling to patients, as well as families, caregivers, and other service providers related to physical disorders.Effectively communicates with the supervisor and other health team members regarding patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans.Provides input to the supervisor for the discharge summary of services provided.Documents all regulatory and clinically required information in the electronic documentation system and maintains patient records according to company policy.Accurately records treatment minutes for services provided per all regulatory and clinical requirements.Participates in required meetings including but not limited to patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation meetings.Participates in facility and company required trainings, in-services, and conferences.Able to work with the supervising Physical Therapist to obtain any necessary DME or supplies.Able to supervise and support students under the guidance of the Physical Therapist.Adheres to APTA and State Required practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics during professional practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
