Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff is seeking a Therapy - COTA for a 13-week assignment in Texas. The Occupational Therapy Assistant will work under the supervision of an OT in a Long Term Care setting, delivering evidence-based interventions and documenting patient progress.

This role requires 1 year OTA experience, an active license, and a COTA certification. Day shifts, 8-hour shifts, with a collaborative team focused on quality patient care in a rehabilitative environment.

Qualifications

• 1 year OTA experience.
• Active State Licensure/Registration when applicable.
• COTA license.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions.
• Provides rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders under the supervision and direction of an Occupational Therapist.
• Administers procedures as part of the rehabilitation plan including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive devices.
• Assesses patient progress and communicates with supervising Occupational Therapist to adjust treatments in the clinical record.
• Documents all required information in the electronic documentation system and maintains patient records according to company policy.
• Participates in required meetings including patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation meetings.
• Supervises and supports students under the guidance of the Occupational Therapist.

Description:Utilizes evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions.Provides rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders under the supervision and direction of an Occupational Therapist.Administers various procedures as part of the rehabilitation plan including but not limited to ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and the use of supportive and assistive devices.Assesses patient progress and communicates with supervising Occupational Therapist to adjust treatments accordingly in the clinical record.Reports effectiveness of treatment outcomes to the supervising Occupational Therapist.Provides consultation to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers related to cognitive and/or physical disorders.Effectively communicates with supervisors and other health team members regarding patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans.Provides input to supervisors for discharge summaries of services provided.Documents all required information in the electronic documentation system and maintains patient records according to company policy.Accurately records treatment minutes for services provided.Participates in required meetings including patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation meetings.Participates in facility and company-required trainings, in-services, and conferences.Works with supervising Occupational Therapist to obtain any necessary DME or supplies.Supervises and supports students under the guidance of the Occupational Therapist.Adheres to NBCOT/AOTA and State-required practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics during professional practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
