We have a fantastic opportunity at ourAliceRoss-King Care Centrein Bull Creek for anout-of-the-box and forward-thinkingTherapyAssistant! As a Therapy Assistant with RAAFA, you willwork closely with both the Lifestyle Coordinator and theOccupational Therapist to assess resident's needs and preferencesto develop appropriate one-on-one or group programs, assist in thedevelopment and delivery of group and individual therapies and notechanges in resident's well-being and advise staff of these. ATherapy Assistant with RAAFA is always involved in the continuousimprovement of the service.

This role as a Therapy Assistant will seeyou:

  • Assist in the implementation of therapy programs includinggroup and individual activities.
  • Assist in assesing resident's needs and preferences andhelp develop appropriate programs in relation to theindividual.
  • Supervise volunteers who are assisting with theprogram.
  • Complete documentation and reporting in relation to therole.
  • Communicate with Allied Health and Clinical teams on theoutcome of programs for the residents.

About you:

  • Previous, demonstrated experience working in ResidentialAged Care.
  • Ability to work autonomously and with a multidisciplinaryteam.
  • Proactive with a positive 'get up and go!' attitude.
  • Flexible with start and finish times.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to relate to the elderly with empathy andunderstand their needs.
  • Demonstrate flexible decision making and advanced problemsolving skills.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills toeffectively plan and prioritise work tasks.
  • Enjoy building positive relationships with residents, theirfamilies and staff.

About the Facility:

Set on 11 hectares of land in Bull Creek, the Alice Ross-KingCare Centre is a 102-bed Residential Care Centre located on thebanks of Lake Howard at RAAFA's Air Force Memorial Estate. Thecontemporary two-storey care centre was created to maximise naturallighting within the centre and capitalise on its serene lakesidelocation. With stunning lakeside views and a natural parkland hometo many native birds including ducks and swans, where could be abetter place to work!
