Job summary

Select Rehabilitation Hospital Denton, part of Select Medical, is seeking a Therapy Aide/Safety Coach to support therapists in inpatient rehab. You will assist with patient transfers, positioning and preparing for therapy sessions, while maintaining safety and clinical protocols in a 10-hour shift.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and BLS; prior hospital therapy tech or nursing assistant experience is a plus. This full-time role offers benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification or completion within first 90 days of employment is required.
• Preferred: experience as hospital therapy tech or nursing assistant (1+ year).

Responsibilities

• Performs patient-related tasks assigned by therapist.
• Lifts and transfers patients to/from mats, treatment tables, wheelchairs and other equipment.
• Assists patients with transfers to all surfaces.
• Assists patients in donning/doffing appliances specific to the facility.
• Positions patients in parallel bars and prepares them for standing with orthotic/prosthetic devices.
• Transports patients to/from therapy as needed.
• Assists therapist with other patient-related treatment activities and equipment.
• Assist with patient scheduling and de-escalation as needed.
• Shift is 10 hours.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient related tasks assigned by therapist
• Lifts patients to/from mats, treatment and tilt tables, wheelchairs and other equipment appropriate to the facility/department.
• Assists patients with transfer activities to all surfaces.
• Assists patients in donning/doffing all appliances specific to the facility/department.
• Positions patients in parallel bars and prepares patients for standing with appropriate orthotic/prosthetic devices and equipment.
• Transports patients to/from therapy as needed.
• Assists therapist with other patient related treatment activities as appropriate and providing equipment.
• Assist with patient related activities including equipment set-up and patient positioning in preparation for therapy session as outlined in the State Practice
• 10 hour shifts
• Direct patient care with patients that potentially have behaviors that benefit from additional structured activities outside of therapy sessions for improved attending to task, managing stimulation, and returning to prior level of function.
• Managing patient scheduling with participation in the program fairly independently
• Assisting nursing in managing patients as they present with behaviors and assist with de-escalation

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required
• Certified BLS or completion in first 90 days of employment required

Preferred Qualifications

• More than 1 year of hospital therapy tech or nursing assistant experience
