This Therapy Aide II position will work in both the Physical Therapy (PT) and Occupational Therapy (OT) departments, supporting the delivery of therapeutic programs for Tacachale residents under the supervision of licensed therapists in both the PT and OT departments. This position involves assisting in the delivery of physical management programs, occupational therapy interventions, and a variety of therapy-related activities across both departments. This position works collaboratively with team members to ensure quality care and therapeutic progress.
Assist Occupational Therapist (OT) and Physical Therapist (PT) in setting up and facilitating evaluations and treatment plans. This includes preparing the therapy area, gathering necessary materials and forms, active range of motion exercises, feeding assistance, and obtaining additional information as needed. Report any daily patient variations such as seizure activity, aspiration, or behavioral changes, and notify the OT and/or PT as appropriate.
Assist with transporting residents to and from therapy appointments and various campus wide activities. Manage and stock all therapy supplies.
Operate and maintain therapeutic equipment and adaptive devices including the treadmill, exercise bicycle, scale, helmets, orthotic devices, wheelchairs, etc. Ensure that all equipment is in proper working condition and maintain cleanliness of the therapy clinic and equipment after each session.
Assist with organizing, filing, and purging charts as needed, ensuring that all patient records are properly maintained and up to date.
Performs other related duties as assigned by the supervising therapists to assist with physical and occupational therapy programs, ensuring residents receive comprehensive care across both therapy disciplines.
This position may be required to perform essential services before, during, and after an emergency per APD OP 2-0035.
This position is critical to the safety and supervision of residents and may require the incumbent to work beyond their normal work schedule to maintain minimum coverage levels in the facility.
