Job summary

Siouxland Mental Health Center seeks a dedicated Therapist to deliver therapy services, maintain patient charts, and support families within our community. You’ll work under the Clinical Director, handling assessments, treatment planning, and crisis response, with opportunities for professional growth.

The role emphasizes collaboration with families, probation officers, and healthcare providers, ensuring ethical care, confidentiality, and community impact.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work (LMSW) or Counseling (LMHC).
• 2 years of social services experience.
• Knowledge of Siouxland community resources.
• Independent level licensure in the state of Iowa (LISW).

Responsibilities

• Provide therapy services to clients and manage charts.
• Counsel individuals and groups to treat dependencies and life changes.
• Counsel family members to support clients.
• Develop, implement, evaluate, and adjust treatment plans.
• Coordinate with families, probation officers, DHS, doctors and others.
• Refer clients to community resources as needed.
• Act as client advocate in crisis situations.
• Maintain confidential records and discharge planning.
• Engage in continuing education and supervision.
• Plan programs to improve community mental health.
• Provide on-call crisis hotline services.
• Share weekend crisis coverage at the Crisis Center.
