Job summary

Family & Children’s Services seeks School-based Therapists to work with children aged 4-18 at school sites in Tulsa. You will provide evidence-based therapy, complete intakes, develop treatment plans, and coordinate with teachers and families.

Roles include individual, group, and family therapy, with supervision for licensure if needed. Compensation includes $82K/year for licensed therapists plus an $8K first-year bonus; supervised track offers $72K plus a $5K bonus, plus strong benefits.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Social Work or related field.
  • Licensed or under supervision for licensure as LPC, LCSW or LMFT in Oklahoma.
  • Experience in individual, group and family therapy.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations in high-stress environments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide school-based therapy to children ages 4-18 at school sites.

Family & Children’s Services Therapists work to heal hurting and abused children, strengthen families, and provide hope and a path to recovery for those battling mental illness and addiction.

Children’s mental health therapist will work with children between the ages 4-18 at a school site providing services at schools. The School-based therapist will provide evidence-based treatment to children and their families who may have significant behavioral and emotional issues and may be living in high stress environments. Therapist will collaborate monthly with teachers and conduct intakes, develop treatment plans and plan updates, individual family, and group therapy. Therapist may also be assigned to provide services to children and/or adult in the office-based program for family strengthening on occasion.

What you'll need for this role:

  • Master's degree in social work, Counseling Psychology or its equivalent from an accredited school.
  • Knowledge and experience in individual, group and family therapy.
  • Knowledge and experience in conducting mental health assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Must demonstrate a clinical family systems orientation and ability to work with diverse populations with multiplicity of problems.
  • Must be licensed or under supervision for licensure as an LCSW, LPC or LMFT in the State of Oklahoma.
  • Must possess a valid Driver License and satisfactory driving record and use personal automobile to travel to locations other than primary office.

Some therapists may prefer to serve multiple schools in one area as well. School therapists often have some flexibility to their schedule and to create a daily/ weekly schedule that is best for them. Our therapists' schedules follow school schedules for virtual and no school days. Annually salary is structured school style; 10 months of work is paid out over 12-month period so there is no gap in income or planning needed.

CCBHC Model of Care

Family & Children’s Services works to heal hurting and abused children, strengthen families, and provide hope and a path to recovery for those battling mental illness and addiction. You will be working in an innovative and dynamic environment using a new transformative model of care Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). This model is characterized by innovative, team-based approach and whole person care for adults and children with a range of complex mental health and substance use challenges.

Utilizing multi-disciplinary teams, staff work collaboratively to provide a coordinated effort to enhance client recovery. Robust CCBHC services often result in better client outcomes and quality of care due to:

  • Increased access to care and crisis services
  • Expanded traditional community mental health and substance use services.
  • Added Care Coordination and physical health screening for mental health clients
  • Greater access to Social Services for clients’ economic and social needs
  • Increased specialized services for veterans, those most in need, and those impacted by the opioid crisis.

Required Education

High School or better in Counseling Psychology or related field.
