Job summary

Westpark Springs in Richmond, TX, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks a Therapist to provide psychotherapy and counseling for patients with psychiatric and substance use issues. You will document thoroughly and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to plan treatment, discharge, and aftercare.

The role requires a Master’s degree in social work or counseling, an active clinical license, and CPR/CPI within 30 days. Prior experience with psychiatric and chemical dependency patients is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree in social work or counseling or relevant state licensure.
  • Experience: Prior experience with psychiatric and chemical dependency patients.
  • License: Current unencumbered clinical license per state of practice guidelines.
  • Additional Requirements: CPR certification and CPI within 30 days.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions to educate patients regarding psychological, emotional, or substance abuse problems.
  • Participate in treatment planning, discharge, transition, and after-care planning processes.
  • Provide family session counseling to patients when therapeutically necessary.
  • Support with vital and UDS capture as needed.
  • Actively communicate with clients, families, and outside referral sources within HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
  • Collaborate consistently with the interdisciplinary team including physicians, utilization review, and nursing staff.
  • Complete appropriate paperwork for clients in a timely, accurate, and complete manner.
  • Complete required assessment paperwork, including patient assessment scales, Columbia, psychosocial/LOC assessments, and updates.
  • Demonstrate appropriate crisis intervention and de-escalation skills.

How You'll Contribute

As a Therapist, you will provide psychotherapy and counseling therapies including group, individual, and family therapy for patients suffering from psychiatric and substance abuse issues. You will ensure accurate and timely patient documentation.

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions to educate patients regarding psychological, emotional, or substance abuse problems.
  • Participate in treatment planning, discharge, transition, and after-care planning processes.
  • Provide family session counseling to patients when therapeutically necessary.
  • Support with vital and UDS capture as needed.
  • Actively communicate with clients, families, and outside referral sources within HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
  • Collaborate consistently with the interdisciplinary team including physicians, utilization review, and nursing staff.
  • Communicate UR on treatment and LOS issues, supporting UR functions/authorizations/denials.
  • Complete appropriate paperwork for clients in a timely, accurate, and complete manner.
  • Complete required assessment paperwork, including patient assessment scales, Columbia, psychosocial/LOC assessments, and updates.
  • Demonstrate appropriate crisis intervention and de-escalation skills.
  • Act as a team member during crisis situations, assisting others to ensure patient safety.
  • Enact the code system per company policy and training.
  • Complete accurate assessments of patients utilizing clinical skills and assist care coordination department as requested.
  • Complete all documentation thoroughly, timely, and in accordance with hospital/facility standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality, complete releases appropriately, and adhere to HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations.
  • Show knowledge of all clinical regulations, including TJC/CARF, Medicaid, and state and federal laws.
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications and Requirements

Education: Master's degree in social work or counseling or relevant state licensure required.

Experience: Prior experience with psychiatric and chemical dependency patients.

License: Current unencumbered clinical license per state of practice guidelines.

Additional Requirements: CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days.
