Occupational Therapist - Baylor Scott & White Denton, TX

+ Location: Denton, Texas

+ Schedule/Shift: PT- Day Position

We are looking for a motivated Occupational Therapist to cross-train at both Baylor Scott and White The Heart Hospital Rehabilitation and at BSW The Heart Hospital Denton. This unique opportunity allows you to utilize and enhance your professional growth in two distinct settings, collaborate with our interdisciplinary team, and make a meaningful impact on patient recovery across the continuum of care.

JOB SUMMARY

The Occupational Therapist PRN plans, organizes, and provides professional services in restorative, functional and preventative therapeutic programs to patients. Clinical practice includes evaluation and occupational therapy treatment planning to facilitate rehabilitation of the mental, physical or emotional disabled person. Works closely with patients and family to establish and meet treatment goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

  1. Evaluates, treats and monitors patient. Modifies therapy program and goals.
  2. Performs thorough and concise clinical documentation in a timely manner. Enters charges accurately.
  3. Communicates effectively with patients and families, departmental coworkers, and members of the medical care team. Provides education to patients, family and staff.
  4. Supervises ancillary staff, students and volunteers.
  5. Advances clinical skills through ongoing education, literature review and implementation of evidence-based practice.
  6. Imparts knowledge to develop the clinical skills of colleagues. Adheres to organizational, national, and state regulatory guidelines.
  7. Maintains awareness of system goals. Aligns personal goals and work activities to uphold or impact the system goals.

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS

  1. Must possess excellent social relation skills to include excellent oral and written communication skills.
  2. Must demonstrate aptitude in assigned areas as specified for each clinician.
  3. Exhibits proven face-to-face synergy and leadership skills with all levels of the healthcare team and assures delivery of excellent customer service to all patients, visitors, physicians and coworkers.
  4. Possesses proficient computer knowledge; operates multiple computer systems and standard Rehabilitation equipment.
  5. High attention to detail in fast paced and dynamic environment.
  6. Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining a high level of productivity.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. EDUCATION - Masters' or Bachelors plus 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
  2. EXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year of Experience
  3. CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - Occupational Therapist (OT)
  4. Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.
