Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Austin, TX is seeking an Occupational Therapist I to plan, organize, and deliver therapy services within our rehabilitation programs. You will evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, and collaborate with families to achieve goals.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or 4+ years of work experience above minimum qualification.
• OT certification required; BLS preferred.
• Experience level: Less than 1 year is acceptable in this role.

Job Summary

The Occupational Therapist 1 plans, organizes, and provides services in therapeutic programs. Clinical practice includes evaluation and therapy planning to help rehabilitate individuals with disabilities. Works closely with patients and families to meet treatment goals.

Essential Functions Of The Role

• Evaluates, treats and monitors patient. Modifies therapy program and goals.
• Performs thorough and concise clinical documentation in a timely manner. Enters charges accurately.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, coworkers, and the medical care team. Provides education to patients, family, and staff.
• Supervises ancillary staff, students and volunteers.
• Advances clinical skills through ongoing education, literature review and implementation of evidence-based practice.
• Imparts knowledge to develop the clinical skills of colleagues. Adheres to organizational, national and state regulatory guidelines.
• Maintains awareness of system goals. Aligns personal goals and work activities to uphold or impact the system goals.
