Qualified Behavioral Health Providers are trained professionals who work under the supervision of a licensed therapist or psychologist to assist individuals, families, and couples with mental health challenges. They offer services such as counseling, psychotherapy, and behavior modification within their scope of practice and geographical region.
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide individual, group, family, and other therapy services under supervision.
- Complete intake, screening, and assessment processes as per standards.
- Determine and document diagnosis based on assessments.
- Develop and update treatment plans based on client needs.
- Participate in clinical meetings and provide case feedback.
- Meet department-specific service goals.
- Coordinate with internal departments for service approval and documentation.
- Document services in compliance with standards.
- Assist clients through transition processes and complete final documentation.
- Complete mandatory training and represent the agency professionally.
- Handle crisis situations and participate in emergency services.
- Provide clinical supervision to trainees when qualified.
- Facilitate various therapy sessions including specialty services.
- Offer clinical consultation and guidance on evidence-based practices.
- Contribute to the company’s goals and objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Expertise in diagnostic criteria for substance use and mental health disorders.
- Knowledge of caseload management and treatment principles.
- Understanding of legal and court procedures related to mental health treatment.
- Supervisory and training skills in a mental health setting.
- Ability to develop, evaluate, and coordinate services.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to establish effective relationships via various communication modes.
- Ability to follow supervision and directions.
Experience and Education Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field.
- Ability to obtain full licensure in the practicing state.
- Willingness to become licensed in additional states.
- Comfort with providing telehealth services (training provided).
Other Requirements:
- Background checks, orientation, and ongoing training compliance.
- Valid driver’s license and insurance if travel is required.
- Completion of required behavioral management training within specified timelines.
Physical and Additional Requirements:
- Sedentary work with occasional walking or standing.
