Description
Job Responsibilities: Therapy (group, individual, family); Crisis Management; Direct Clinical Services for a broad range of Mental Health needs with adults and children to include diagnostic impressions, clinical assessments and referrals as needed.
Job Duties
Obtain Therapist Certification of License as required by the Department of Mental Health and maintain Certification/License in good standing.
Build collaborative professional partnerships with community stakeholders including local police department, sheriff's department and hospital(s).
Work with local authorities, on site when warranted, to assess mental health needs in the event that mental health is thought to be contributing factor during law enforcement interventions.
Assess individuals in need to determine which services/interventions/resources will be most appropriate for them and refer as needed.
Be available 24 hours per day, seven days a week to triage individuals in need via telephone and/or face-to-face contact.
Research and, with supervision, implement latest effective crisis response techniques.
Serve as back-up for in-center emergencies, pre-admission screenings, and hospital consultations for Outpatient Services.
Provide individual, group and family therapy.
Accurately and timely complete initial intakes, CTP's, periodic reviews and annual CTP's as needed.
Participate in treatment team meetings with other staff members.
Participate in in-center emergency system and hospital consultations as needed.
Participate in crisis management after-hours services as scheduled.
Conduct civil commitment pre-screening evaluations as needed.
Provide case and/or program consultation with family and outside resources (agencies) as needed.
Provide on-site monitoring for PSR Program as required by DMH Operational Standards.
Provide Targeted Case Management services to all assigned individuals to assist with resource coordination and treatment plan review/coordination.
Meet all productivity, paperwork and other quality assurance expectations as specified by the program coordinator.
Treat individuals receiving services, family members, staff, volunteers, visitors, government agencies, and the general public with respect, dignity, and courtesy at all times. Conduct yourself in a manner which leaves a favorable impression with the public.
Adhere to all Department of Mental Health Standards, Division of Medicaid Standards, and maintain respect for all other Life Help policies, procedures, and management decisions.
Respect and uphold the confidentiality of individuals receiving services, their family members, colleagues, and any sensitive situations arising within the agency. Refrain from malicious gossip at all times.
Participate in all training required for your specific position and by the agency at large.
Perform other specific duties as assigned by your supervisor/manager/coordinator.
Must possess leadership ability, organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and must possess the willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
May be subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, including TB,AIDS and hepatitis and may be subject to emotionally upset and hostile individuals, family members, etc.
Qualifications
Master's Degree in Mental Health Field
Eligible to meet DMH Certificat on/Licensure requirements for Therapist
Valid Mississippi Driver's License
