Therapist / Licensed Professional of Healing Arts

Summary of the Position

The Licensed Professional of Healing Arts (LPHA) is responsible for providing individual, family, and group counseling to youth with serious emotional disturbances and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Provide services in a participant's home or appropriate community setting, including Psychological Diagnostic Interview Examinations, treatment planning, and counseling in group, individual, or family settings.
  • Deliver services targeting the enhancement of youth’s natural supports and strengths, fostering resilience and recovery.
  • Accurately document services, attend Wraparound Team meetings as needed, and communicate participant programs to supervisors, team members, and the referring authority.
  • Ensure compliance with the Texas Medicaid Provider Procedures Manual, Texas Resilience and Recovery Utilization Management Guidelines, YAP Standards, and all state and federal regulations governing service delivery.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Master’s degree in psychology, criminal justice, sociology, social work, counseling/therapy, or behavioral health.
  • Active Professional Licensure in psychology, counseling, or social work required. Valid Texas Licensure (LCSW, LPC, LMFT) is required.
  • Experience in the provision of home and/or community-based mental health services.
  • Foster care experience is a plus.
  • Play Therapy experience is a plus.
  • Experience in community work and knowledge of community resources.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance coverage are required.
  • Bi-Lingual/Spanish speaking is required.
