Job summary

Montage Health is seeking qualified therapists to join their Outpatient Behavioral Health Services team. The role involves providing individual and group psychotherapy, crisis management, and clinical evaluations. Candidates must have a Master’s degree in a relevant field and at least 2 years of post-graduate experience, along with California licensure as an LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC.

The position offers a work schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with competitive pay ranging from $55.36 to $74.04 per hour based on experience. Evening and night shift differentials are also available.

Job Description

Therapists report to the Assistant Director of the Outpatient Behavioral Health Services and are responsible for providing the following clinical services (dependent on Outpatient BHS clinic needs):

  • Group psychotherapy as part of outpatient services
  • Partial hospitalization programming (PHP)
  • Intensive outpatient programming (IOP) in mental health and/or substance use disorder treatment
  • Individual psychotherapy
  • Family psychotherapy
  • Therapy referral management (triage)
  • Crisis management
  • Clinical evaluation
  • Diagnostic assessment
  • Treatment planning

In addition, therapists provide mental health education to patients and, as appropriate, to the community and other professionals. The Medical Director, Lead Therapist and other clinic providers will also furnish clinical and quality care‑related feedback. Important dimensions of this position include commitment to continuous learning, innovation, professionalism and working collaboratively with a multi‑disciplinary team. Strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, curiosity, focus on safety and a commitment to quality are essential attributes for this position. Therapists are responsible for maintaining accurate and timely documentation in connection with the services they provide. This includes documentation of clinical interactions and treatment‑related patient information in the electronic health record. Therapists are also expected to correspond with outside agencies/providers as it pertains to the coordination of patient care.

Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of post‑graduate experience in therapy with individuals, couples, and/or groups.
Education
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
Licensure and Certifications
  • Registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification required.
Preferred and Required Training
  • Training in an evidence‑based practice preferred (CBT, DBT, ACT, EMDR).
  • Completion of the mandatory 72‑hour Involuntary Holds Authorization course provided by Monterey County.
Work Hours and Compensation

Assigned Work Hours: 8:00AM to 4:30PM. Position Type: Regular.

Pay Range (based on years of applicable experience): $55.36 to $74.04 per hour.

Shift differentials: Evening – $4.03 per hour; Night – $6.05 per hour.
