Job summary

Lambs Farm seeks a compassionate Level I Therapist to provide individual, family, and group therapy to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through the Specialty Care Center. Qualifications

Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Level I Therapist to provide individual, family, and group therapy services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through our Specialty Care Center. In this role, you will conduct behavioral health assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support meaningful participant outcomes.

Reporting to the Behavioral Health Clinical Director, you will practice under clinical supervision while working toward independent licensure. This role offers an opportunity to strengthen your clinical skills, receive ongoing professional development and supervision, and contribute to the continued growth and innovation of behavioral health services at Lambs Farm.

The Role

• Provide individual, family, and group therapy using evidence-based, person-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive approaches


• Complete comprehensive behavioral health assessments, including IM+CANS assessments, in accordance with agency and payer requirements


• Develop, implement, review, and update individualized treatment plans based on participant goals and identified clinical needs


• Monitor participant progress and use clinical judgment to modify treatment approaches and interventions as appropriate


• Help participants develop coping strategies, emotional regulation skills, communication skills, and healthy relationships


• Complete assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, therapy documentation, and other required clinical records accurately and within established timelines


• Submit appropriate clinical documentation to support billing and reimbursement requirements


• Maintain accurate electronic health records in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards


• Ensure clinical documentation demonstrates medical necessity and uses appropriate professional clinical language


• Maintain participant confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and applicable state and federal requirements


• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate participant care and treatment planning


• Communicate professionally with participants, families, guardians, healthcare providers, and community partners


• Participate in case consultations, staffing meetings, and interdisciplinary treatment planning


• Coordinate referrals and connect participants with community resources when appropriate


• Participate in ongoing clinical supervision while progressing toward independent professional licensure


• Practice in accordance with applicable professional licensing requirements, ethical standards, and codes of ethics


• Complete required trainings, department meetings, continuing education, and professional development activities


• Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based behavioral health interventions and practices for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities


• Respond appropriately to behavioral or emotional crises using approved de-escalation techniques and organizational safety procedures


• Participate in program improvement initiatives that support the continued development and growth of the Specialty Care Center


• Travel locally on occasion for participant meetings, community coordination, or outreach activities as needed

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or another closely related behavioral health field


• Current provisional professional license in Illinois, such as LSW, LPC, or equivalent, required


• Eligibility to pursue independent clinical licensure, such as LCSW, LCPC, or equivalent


• Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities required


• Experience providing behavioral health services in a clinical, community, educational, or healthcare setting preferred


• Experience conducting behavioral health assessments and developing treatment plans preferred


• Working knowledge of the DSM-5-TR and behavioral health assessment principles


• Strong clinical interviewing and therapeutic communication skills


• Excellent clinical documentation and written communication skills


• Strong organizational and time-management abilities with the ability to meet documentation and billing deadlines


• Sound clinical judgment and ability to maintain professional composure when supporting individuals experiencing emotional, behavioral, or mental health concerns


• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within an interdisciplinary team


• Commitment to person-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive care


• Commitment to participant dignity, autonomy, confidentiality, rights, and lived experiences


• Ability to receive and incorporate clinical supervision and feedback into professional practice


• Proficiency in speaking, writing, and understanding English


• Proficiency with electronic health records, Microsoft Office applications, email, telehealth platforms when applicable, and standard computer systems


• Ability to work in office, clinical, residential, and community-based environments


• Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout campus and community locations for extended periods


• Ability to comply with confidentiality standards, documentation requirements, organizational safety procedures, and applicable professional licensing regulations

Compensation

The annual salary for this role is $57,000 - 63,000 per year
