How You Make a Difference

As a Licensed Mental Health Professional in a correctional facility, you will conduct intake evaluations, provide therapeutic interventions and suicide prevention techniques, and develop treatment plans for inmates. You will monitor the clinical needs of your caseload, provide staff training on mental health topics, and document findings according to company and facility policies. Your role ensures inmates receive appropriate mental health services while incarcerated.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct screening, assessments, and triages for inmates referred by security, healthcare staff, and other sources; provide recommendations for level of care.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans; conduct psychoeducational and transitional groups; provide suicide prevention interventions.
  • Respond to sick calls, support medication adherence, and coordinate with prescribing providers for medication evaluations.
  • Provide crisis intervention, oversee clinical needs of caseloads, and participate in multidisciplinary and administrative meetings.
  • Provide staff training on mental health topics; document findings in the health record; ensure policy and procedure compliance.
Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or other related mental health discipline

Experience

  • One (1) or more years of experience in a mental health treatment program, preferably in a correctional or hospital setting

Licenses/Certifications

  • Unrestricted, current license in the state of practice (e.g., LCSW, LMFT, LPC, LMHC, Psychologist). Must maintain licensure, certifications, and continuing education requirements.
Additional Details

Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM. Independent licensure required.
