Job description

Position Summary

Completion of Master’s Level Practicum and Pre‑practicum hours, and/or supervision toward associates’ licensure. Under general supervision, the role is responsible for developing and practicing ethical and quality treatment services to students and families from intake through discharge. The incumbent will provide supervised, individual, family and group therapy, as well as crisis intervention. Responsibilities include documenting treatment plans, collaborating with a treatment team and other professionals such as psychiatric providers, case managers, and oversight bodies. The role will develop ethical treatment practices, treatment plan development, diagnosis, modalities, assessment of client progress, and trauma‑informed approaches for adolescents.

Essential Functions
  • Work with an accredited College or University to develop an academic plan that supports the practicum and pre‑practicum requirements.
  • Develop a curriculum of study and define necessary hours of attendance and direct client contact.
  • Outline requirements to receive college credit and outline supervisor requirements for oversight and assessment.
  • Outline weekly schedule for time on campus and direct client time with supervisor.
  • Identify the academic advisor, contact information, and communication expectations.
  • Develop an understanding and practice basics of treatment planning, recommendations, and holistic individual and family therapy services.
  • Maintain contact with the psychiatrist, clinical supervisor, clinical director, and case managers.
  • Observe and participate in preparation, review, and revision of the individual service plan and generate the treatment progress and recommendation portions of the discharge summary.
  • Develop an understanding of alternative service options to traditional psychotherapy through supervised practice.
  • Under supervision, advise families and case workers of therapeutic services available.
  • Observe and participate with clients and/or families for individual and/or family therapy.
  • Consult with teachers, behavioral health technicians, nurses, and support staff to gather information on client progress in treatment and MAT.
  • Develop skills toward and assist with crisis intervention and assessment.
  • Attend clinical group supervision.
  • Prepare clinical staffing reports and service plans.
  • Document individual sessions and group sessions consistent with the service plan and contract requirements.
  • Ensure documentation of contact is routed to clients’ chart.
  • Complete staffing reports and service plans.
  • Complete BPS and risk assessments as appropriate.
  • Complete documents needed for placing agencies as assigned.
  • Complete progress notes and service plan updates.
  • Observe and participate in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Obtain professional liability insurance.
  • Participate in staff development opportunities and facilitate as assigned.
  • Complete sanctuary training, non‑violent crisis intervention, Ukeru, and online training courses.
  • Adhere to Mingus policy and practice concerning creation, editing, transmission, storage, and disposition of all protected health information in compliance with HIPAA.
