Job summary

Centerstone is a leading nonprofit behavioral health system seeking a licensed therapist to provide services across home, school, and community settings in Chattanooga.

This role carries a caseload of six clients, with therapy 2–3 times weekly for ages 3–18, plus guardian and family sessions; documentation and care planning are routine.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required in Clinical Psychology, MH Counseling, Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy.
• License-eligible in respective discipline preferred.
• Experience: at least 1 year providing treatment to individuals with mental health disorders.

• Progress notes completed within current agency guidelines.
• Responds to supervisory request for urgent care situations and coverage for vacant caseloads; includes telephones and face to face intervention.

• Responds to needs of consumers in a timely and professional manner.
• Demonstrates good clinical judgment in decision making regarding consumers.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Provide therapy to clients while maintaining good clinical judgement. Carry caseloads of 6 clients. Providing therapy 2-3x a week to client's ages 3-18. Completing 1 session with client, 1 session with guardian, 1 family session. Sessions are held in the client's home, at school, workplace, public setting etc. Work hours are 8am-6pm Monday-Friday. Administrative work includes daily notes, monthly CarePlan updates, and staying up to date with ROI's and other paperwork.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education Requirements

A Master’s degree is required in one of the following fields: Clinical Psychology, Mental Health (MH) Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, and/or a specialization in MH Counseling License-eligible in respective discipline preferred.

Alternative Qualifications

OR Applicants with a Master’s degree in a related field (outside of the disciplines listed above) must meet the following criteria:

• Completion of at least 24 graduate-level semester hours in psychology, social work, counseling, or other behavioral health-related coursework.
• Relevant coursework and work experience in the following areas: Clinical treatment and treatment planning Appraisal and assessment of mental disorders Psychopathology Use of the DSM for diagnostic purposes within a clinical internship or practicum in a behavioral health setting

Experience Requirements

A minimum of one (1) year of experience providing treatment to individuals with mental health disorders is required, and substance use disorders experience preferred. Internship experience may be applied toward the minimum experience requirement for recent graduates.
