Job summary

Boston Children’s Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive respiratory care across critical care, inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings. Eligible for a 36-hour weekly schedule with day/night rotations and a $20,000 sign-on bonus. MA license required; RRT credential; NICU/PICU experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist credential (RRT).
• Licensed by the State of Massachusetts.
• NICU/PICU experience preferred.
• NPS, PALS, NRP, and ACLS preferred.

Schedule

36 hours per week, rotating day/night shifts, every third weekend. This position is eligible for full time benefits $20,000 sign-on bonus (not eligible for internal candidates and not eligible for former BCH employees who worked here in the past 2 years).

Key Responsibilities

• Applies and monitors mechanical ventilation, and is a resource for respiratory care staff and care teams.
• Provides respiratory therapy in critical care, inpatient, outpatient and emergency settings, and is a resource for respiratory care staff and care teams.
• Provides patient care in assigned clinical area, completes associated duties, and is a resource for staff and care teams.
• Communicates with care teams, patients and their family members, and co workers.
• Participates in professional development, serves as an educational resource for department trainees, and is a clinical resource to care teams.

Qualifications

• Associate of Science Degree in Respiratory Therapy required; graduates of a BS Degree Respiratory Therapy program preferred.
• Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
• Licensed by the State of Massachusetts.
• NICU and PICU experience preferred.
• NPS, PALS, NRP, and ACLS preferred.

Work Experience Required

• One to two years as a Respiratory Therapist is required.

The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting. Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
