Montgomery County seeks compassionate Therapists I and II to deliver vital mental health services in Silver Spring. The potential salary range for the Therapist I (Grade 23) role upon hire is $74,507- $94,4442.The potential salary range for the Therapist II (Grade 24) role upon hire is $77,738- $116,225.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
BHCS, Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Services (CABHS) in Silver Spring is currently recruiting for a compassionate,empatheticand professionalTherapistto make a meaningful impact in the lives of underserved individuals and families. CABHS provides individual and family therapy as well as clinical case management for children, adolescents and families who are uninsured or have Medical Assistance.
For the Therapist I Level:
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with aMaster's Degree in clinicalor counselling(SP)psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, nursing, or a related Behavioral science field.
Experience: None
Equivalency: None
License Requirement:One of the following licenses, issued by the State of Maryland, must be held prior to appointment, andmaintainedby, the employee:
Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW).
Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC); or
Licensed Graduate Marriage and Family Therapist (LGMFT).
Possession and maintenance at all times of a: Valid Class C (or equivalent) driver's license from the applicant's state of residence whenrequiredfor job-related duties.
For the Therapist II Level:
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with aMaster’s Degree in clinicalor counseling psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, nursing, or a related behavioral science field.
Experience: Two (2) years of professional experiencerenderingtherapeutic counseling, social work,nursingor psychology services, as pertinent to one’s professional licensing.
Equivalency: None.
LICENSE REQUIREMENT:One of the following licenses, issued by the State of Maryland, must be held prior to appointment of, andmaintainedby, the employee:
Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC);
Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapy (LCMFT);
Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC);
Licensed Certified Social Worker/Clinical (LCSW-C);
Licensed Registered Nurse in the United States, certified as Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Adult Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or Family Psychiatric Menta Health Nurse Practitioner in the State of Maryland; or
Licensed Psychologist
Note: There will be no substitutions for this requirement.
Possession and maintenance of: A valid Class C (or equivalent) driver’s license from the applicant’s state of residence whenrequiredfor job-related duties.
We will useinterview preferencecriteria:
Demonstrated experience providing individual, family and group therapy
Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience with trauma, substance use, self-injury, crisis/safety assessment
Experience working with multiple agencies (i.e., DJS, CWS, MCPS)
Experience providing therapy off site (school/community/telehealth)
Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based practices: Motivational Interviewing, TF-CBT, etc.
Multilingual Spanish Basic Preferred
