Childhelp seeks a compassionate Clinical Therapist I to provide individual, group, and family therapy for children and adolescents in Phoenix. The role collaborates with families, schools, and child welfare agencies to deliver a holistic, trauma-informed, client-centered approach.

Responsibilities include comprehensive assessments, treatment planning, case management, and caregiver education. A strong preference is given to bilingual candidates.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree (M.A.) in Social Sciences (Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or related field) is required.
  • LMSW, LAC or LAMFT credential is required or preferred depending on role.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred to support diverse families.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and child development is essential.

  • Deliver individual, group, and family therapy.

  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and develop treatment plans.
  • Maintain a caseload and ensure timely documentation.

Join Our Team as a Clinical Therapist! Are you a compassionate clinician dedicated to helping children and adolescents find their voice after trauma? We are seeking a Therapist I to join our team in providing high-impact, client-centered therapeutic services.

What You'll Do

As a Therapist I, you will provide individual, group, and family therapy. You will work within a multidisciplinary framework, collaborating closely with families, schools, and child welfare agencies to ensure a comprehensive "whole-child" approach to care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Excellence: Deliver therapy using trauma-informed modalities such as TF-CBT, EMDR, or Play Therapy.
  • Assessment & Planning: Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Case Management: Maintain a caseload of 22–25 clients, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Advocacy & Education: Educate caregivers and families on the impact of trauma on child development and behavior.
  • Crisis Intervention: Provide safety planning and crisis support as needed.
  • Collaboration: Participate in weekly supervision, staff meetings, and multidisciplinary consultations.
Work Environment & Schedule
  • Office-Based: This position is primarily based in our clinical office.
  • Flexible Hours: To ensure accessibility for our families, this role requires a flexible schedule, including evenings or non-traditional hours as necessary.
  • Productivity: This role is subject to meeting agency productivity goals to ensure we reach as many children in need as possible.
Qualifications
What You'll Bring
  • Education: Master’s Degree (M.A.) or equivalent in Social Sciences (Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field).
  • Associate Therapist: LMSW, LAC, or LAMFT
  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience providing mental health counseling to children, adolescents, and their families.
  • Bilingual Preferred: English and Spanish fluency.
  • Clinical Knowledge: Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and child development.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Training or certification in specific modalities like TF-CBT, PCIT, or EMDR is highly preferred.
