Job summary

Help Group is seeking a dedicated therapist to join our CAPIT program in Lynwood, CA. This role focuses on preventing and addressing child abuse and supporting families through field-based mental health and case management services.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in a relevant field, CA licensure, and at least one year of experience with children and families. Bilingual Spanish skills are highly preferred and a California driver's license is required.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field required.
  • Active California licensure (LMFT, LCSW, LPCC) or registration (AMFT, APCC) and eligibility for licensure.
  • Minimum of one year experience with children, adolescents, and families.
  • Spanish fluency preferred.
  • Valid California driver's license with clean record.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial and ongoing strengths-based assessments of children and families.
  • Provide field-based mental health and case management services to high-need families.
  • Develop and implement Family Support Plans with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Facilitate team meetings and coordinate with DCFS, DMH, courts, schools, and healthcare partners.
  • Complete documentation and outcome measures in compliance with guidelines.
  • Provide crisis intervention, participate in supervision and trainings, and adhere to licensing standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial and ongoing strengths-based assessments to identify and prioritize the needs of children and families across all domains
  • Provide field-based mental health and case management services to high-need, at-risk families
  • Develop and implement individualized Family Support Plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, families, and community supports
  • Facilitate team meetings and ensure coordination and collaboration among all service providers, including DCFS, DMH, courts, schools, and healthcare partners
  • Complete all required documentation, reports, and outcome measures in compliance with program guidelines and agency standards
  • Provide crisis intervention and support as needed, participate in supervision and trainings, maintain ethical and licensing standards, and perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field required, with active CA licensure (LMFT, LCSW, LPCC) or registration (AMFT, APCC) and eligibility for licensure
  • Minimum of one year experience working with children, adolescents, and families
  • Experience with family-centered, strengths-based, field-based services and group facilitation
  • Strong ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team; experience working with diverse populations and knowledge of the local community preferred
  • Fluency in Spanish highly preferred
  • Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record required
