Gateway Rehab Center in Washington, PA, is seeking a full-time Substance Use Disorder Inpatient Therapist. You will deliver individual, group, and/or family therapy, develop treatment plans, and collaborate with the treatment team to help clients progress toward recovery. A PA background check and health clearances are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 1 year experience in health and human services.
  • Pass PA Criminal Background Check.
  • PA Child Abuse and FBI Fingerprinting Clearances.
  • Pass Drug Screen.
  • 2-Step TB Test.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes trauma-informed treatment with evidence-based practices.
  • Develops treatment plans with the treatment team.

Responsibilities
  • Utilizes and promotes trauma-informed treatment through the provision of evidence-based practices.
  • Participates in developing the patient’s treatment plan and outcomes in cooperation with the treatment team.
  • Provides direct therapeutic services consisting of individual, group, and/or family therapy dependent on the patient's needs.
  • Makes ongoing assessments regarding the patient’s progress in treatment and revises the treatment plan according to patient needs.
  • Completes clinical documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Establishes and maintains contact and relationships with referral sources related to patient caseload.
  • Plans for continuing care of patients and makes appropriate referrals.
  • Monitors and completes insurance authorizations for patient caseload.li>
  • Provides referrals for additional care or services when required
  • Achieves and maintains expected productivity of 50% on an ongoing basis.
  • Participates in regular supervision with the manager and seek additional supervision as needed.
  • Adheres to all applicable provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
  • Adheres to the Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS), Department of Public Welfare (DPW), and Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP) regulations.
  • Completes mandatory orientation and annual training programs; completes applicable attendance documentation.
  • Provides coverage for other programs as needed.
  • Performs other similar and related duties as necessary and/or as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with patients, families, and other professionals.
  • Understands the nature of addiction, including its psychological, physiological, and social aspects.
  • Ability to conduct thorough assessments to diagnose substance use disorders and/or co-occurring conditions.
  • Ability to provide individual and/or group therapy to help patients understand their addiction and develop coping strategies.
  • Skilled at analyzing complex situations and making sound decisions regarding treatment and intervention strategies.
  • Has the capacity to manage personal stress and maintain professionalism in challenging situations.
  • Ability to uphold strict confidentiality to protect patients’ privacy.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree with 1 year experience in a health and human services field.
