Role Description

Therapist is responsible for providing direct clinical services to clients with brain injury and behavioral health needs in a contract, hybrid role based in Grand Rapids, MI, with some work-from-home flexibility. Day-to-day tasks include conducting comprehensive assessments, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, and delivering trauma-informed therapy using evidence-based modalities. The Therapist coordinates care with a multidisciplinary team, participates in case conferences, and maintains timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory and payer requirements. The role also involves regular communication with clients, families, and external partners to support continuity of care and meaningful treatment outcomes. Participation in ongoing professional development and adherence to ethical and legal standards of practice are expected.

Qualifications

• Licensure or certification as a Therapist (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMFT, LLP, OT, PT, SLP) in the state of Michigan, with eligibility to provide behavioral health and/or rehabilitation services.


• EMDR Specialization: Completion of EMDRIA-approved EMDR training or full EMDR certification is strongly preferred.


• Demonstrated experience working with individuals with brain injury, trauma, or complex behavioral health conditions in a clinical or rehabilitation setting.


• Proficiency in trauma-informed care and evidence-based therapeutic approaches (e.g., CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, rehabilitation-focused interventions).


• Strong skills in assessment, treatment planning, progress monitoring, and clinical documentation within insurance or Auto No-Fault frameworks.


• Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team and communicate clearly with clients, families, and community partners.


• High level of professionalism, cultural humility, and commitment to person-centered, strengths-based care.


• Comfort with hybrid work arrangements, including in-person sessions in Grand Rapids, MI and secure telehealth services from home.


• Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field (e.g., Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Rehabilitation, Occupational or Physical Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology).


• Experience with electronic health records and basic technology skills to support telehealth and documentation.
