Essential Functions of the Functional Family Therapist:

• Therapist's time will be spent providing direct, in-person services according to established program timeframes and protocols.
• Provide individual, parent, and family group counseling services to clients in their homes, schools, and other appropriate settings within the context of outreach services and according to treatment plans.
• Complete and submit all required clinical documentation in a professional manner within established program expectations and timeframes.
• Conduct child/adolescent and parent intake interviews and their subsequent dictation according to established program timeframes and protocol.
• Achieve stated treatment goals with assigned youth or families as identified by program expectations.

Minimal Qualifications for the Functional Family Therapist:

• Master's Degree in a human service discipline.
• Enrolled in a human service Master's program.
• Valid driver's license with reliable transportation to meet clients in the community (mileage compensation).

Preferred Qualifications for the Functional Family Therapist:

• Master's degree in social work, counseling, education, or other relevant human service profession with two years' experience in children and family services.
• Ability and willingness to work with families in their own homes.
• Flexibility to work when families are available to meet.
• Ability to work independently, as well as contribute to a team.
• Very good interpersonal/communication skills.
• Ability to work with respect for cultural diversity.
• Ability to engage families who may not want the service.

Physical Requirements for the Functional Family Therapist:

• Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing. Constantly
• Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds. Never
• Moving from one worksite to another Constantly.
