Position Overview

NYAP is seeking a contract Therapist for our Georgia Youth Counseling-Outpatient Mental Health Program (OPMH) to join our Augusta team. The role requires a minimum of 10-20 hours per week with flexible days and times.

Contract Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, this position aims to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families served. Responsibilities include working closely with youth, families, foster parents, and community partners to provide counseling, advocacy, and support, with the goal of helping clients live safely and successfully in the community.

Responsibilities
  • Support and embody the mission, vision, and values of NYAP.
  • Provide individual, group, and family mental health services, case management, transportation, and other professional services, meeting or exceeding outcome thresholds.
  • Travel daily to deliver community-based services to youth and families, complying with organizational, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
  • Complete all documentation and training requirements promptly.
  • Achieve established productivity thresholds consistently.
  • Coordinate and monitor services across mental health, medical, educational, psychological, vocational, and social domains.
  • Review and update youth care plans regularly to ensure progress toward goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with foster parents and families of origin.
  • Assist in family reunification or stabilization efforts, aligned with the youth’s case plan.
  • Provide safety assessments, crisis response, and behavioral stabilization services as needed.
  • Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement activities and weekly supervision sessions.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work or a comparable Human Services field from an accredited institution.
  • Preferably 2 years of direct service experience with youth and families.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, appropriate insurance, and a good driving record.
  • Willingness to work flexible, non-traditional hours.
  • Ability to be flexible, responsive, objective, and professional.
  • Respectful and sensitive to diverse cultural, socioeconomic, ethnic, religious, and racial backgrounds.
  • Proficient with computers and software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury liability.
