Nemours Children's Health is seeking a Therapeutic Technician (Outpatient Therapy Services) to join our Wilmington, Delaware team. This full-time role supports organized patient care and assists in delivering pediatric rehabilitation services at Becks Woods location as needed.

You will help organize and maintain treatment areas, assist therapists with transfers and activities of daily living, and monitor rehabilitation exercises and aquatic therapy under professional supervision.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience required.
  • American Heart Association BLS Certification required upon hire and must be maintained for the duration of employment.
  • Certified Pool Operator required upon hire.
  • Life guarding certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, prepare and assist in the delivery of patient care services for the Therapeutic and Rehabilitative Services program area.
  • Maintain treatment and patient care areas within safety and infection control guidelines.
  • Assist therapist/nursing personnel with transfers, ambulation, and activities of daily living.

Therapeutic Tech (Outpatient Therapy Services) (Finance)

Full-Time


Nemours is seeking a Therapeutic Technician (Outpatient Therapy Services), to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Wilmington, Delaware. Coverage at the Becks Woods, DE location also required.


To organize, prepare and assist in the delivery of patient care services for a designated Therapeutic and Rehabilitative Services program area.


Assumes primary responsibility to prepare and maintain therapeutic treatment and patient care areas within safety and infection control guidelines.



  • Demonstrates proficiency in the care of all ages: pediatric, adolescents, and adults.

  • Maintains confidentiality related to conversation, medical records, treatment plans, etc.

  • Follows basic medical precautions for each patient.

  • Assists therapist/nursing personnel where designated support is needed (ie. transfers, ambulation, activities of daily living etc.)

  • Performs designated pre-planned patient care treatment activities which may include monitoring patients' independent exercise programs, functional and gross motor activities, and aquatic therapy under the direct supervision of a licensed therapist and within the constraints of professional licensure laws.

  • Notifies appropriate healthcare team member when concerns arise.

  • Maintains equipment, cleans, organizes, and maintains treatment and storage areas within assigned program.

  • Maintains regulatory standards on department equipment, crash cart, etc. per hospital policy. Completes daily/monthly checks and logs.

  • Uses machines and tools in a responsible manner adhering to safety practices as outlined by the manufacturer and OSHA standards.

  • Assists in the organization and implementation of volunteer, wellness, and summer group programs, etc.

  • Orders and stocks supplies: medical, nonmedical, nutritional, self-care, splinting, office supplies and linens within budgetary guidelines.

  • Answers phones, schedules appointments and performs patient check in as needed.

  • Attends monthly program meetings.

  • Completes mandatory in-service training yearly, which may include, but is not limited to safety, infection control, HIPPA, corporate compliance, program specific respiratory training, and CPR which is completed biannually.


Hospital Location:

Rehabilitation Program Additional Responsibilities:



  • Transport patients to and from therapy appointments.

  • Assist in monitoring rehabilitation lunch group.

  • Provides additional support to patient during Therapeutic Community Visits (TCV) under the direct supervision of licensed personnel, including driving and monitoring maintenance needs for the department van.

  • Creates patient schedules, communicate with families and complete registration and check-in as needed.

  • Pool operator certification to assist with pool maintenance.

  • Maintains lifeguarding certification; Assists therapist in the aquatic environment with lifeguarding, and patient care activities.


Outpatient Program Additional Responsibilities:


  • Lifeguard certified.

  • Pool operator certification to assist with pool maintenance.

  • Assists therapist in the aquatic environment with lifeguarding, and patient care activities.
