Job summary

Wediko School in Hillsborough, NH seeks a Special Education Teacher to provide therapeutic education and individualized instruction to students with social-emotional and behavioral needs.

The role supports collaboration with clinicians, residential counselors, and other educators within a mission-driven, trauma-informed program. Site-Based licensure pathways and strong mentorship are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with NH licensure in Special Education or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Satisfactory completion of CPI Training required.
• Preferred driving record allowing transport of students in Wediko vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Lead classroom instruction aligned with student IEPs and individualized learning plans.
• Maintain clear expectations for behavior and academic engagement in line with therapeutic education principles.
• Foster an inclusive, trauma-informed, and supportive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with residential staff to ensure consistency between classroom and dorm life.
• Supervise Assistant Teachers and contribute to professional growth through classroom leadership.
• Participate in weekly team meetings, providing insights and strategies for student support.
