Job summary

Nexus Family Healing is hiring Substitute Teaching Assistants for Grand Prairie School at our Onarga, IL location. You will work with staff to support students in a structured, therapeutic setting, providing one-on-one instructional support and help with classroom activities.

Responsibilities include delivering lessons in the teacher’s absence, assisting with attendance and records, supervising study halls, and promoting a respectful, safe learning environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license and ISBE Paraprofessional Endorsement or obtain upon hire.
• Must pass DCFS background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide educational assistance in classroom settings.
• Deliver lessons in the teacher’s absence and support assignments.
• Assist with attendance and progress records.
• Supervise study halls and classrooms as needed.
• Support treatment plans and IEPs in collaboration with staff.
