Job summary

The McLean Hospital Corporation, part of Mass General Brigham, seeks a School Counselor to provide academic, pragmatic, and social-emotional support to students with diverse learning profiles in a therapeutic school setting.

You will collaborate with academic and clinical teams, attend meetings, and design activities; a Bachelor’s degree is required with evidence of the ability to work with children and adolescents; onsite at our Arlington, MA site.

Qualifications

• Education Bachelor's Degree.
• Education preferred.
• Experience in lieu of degree accepted.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in implementing curriculum.
• Support teachers, clinicians and administration in maintaining a safe, nurturing environment.
• Provide academic support, accommodations, and modifications as needed.
• Engage and facilitate students’ transitions between classes and throughout the building.
• Supervise and implement coverage during staff absences.
• Supervise students in all school locations as needed, including arrival/dismissal.
• Provide ongoing social-emotional support to students in the classroom and milieu.
• Complete student-related documentation as necessary.
• Prepare and maintain the milieu and classrooms for use each day.
• Proctor testing sessions with IEP-mandated accommodations.
