Job summary

Fora Health Treatment & Recovery seeks an Adult Residential Assistant to sustain a therapeutic, safe environment for patients and to model professional communication, ethics, and boundaries. You will represent Fora in the community and support the mission through daily interactions and adherence to policies.

You will maintain incident documentation, participate in rounds, supervise patients on outings, and collaborate with staff to ensure compassionate, trauma-informed care.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with a computer.
• Basic knowledge of substance-use disorders.
• Basic knowledge of mental health disorders and symptom presentation.
• Basic understanding of trauma-informed care.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries.
• Ability to complete all necessary tasks assigned during a shift.
• Ensuring patient safety at all times.
• Communicating efficiently and effectively with patients and staff.
• Ability to safely administer medication using an Electronic Health Record.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the therapeutic environment.
• Establish a helping relationship with patients.
• Model healthy communication and boundaries.
• Document incidents and observations in Shift Notes.
• Communicate concerns and outcomes with staff.
• Follow medication administration policy and record administration.
• Assist patients in following program rules and provide interventions.
• Transport and supervise patients off Fora property.
• Conduct rounds inside and outside the building.
• Perform UA’s and searches.
• Be aware of patient whereabouts at all times.
• Maintain building safety and integrity.
• Evacuate the building during drills.
• Support patient engagement in treatment and recovery.
