Qualifications

• Four years of experience as a teacher, instructor, or counselor in a recreational program.
• Bachelor's degree in a rehabilitation, recreation, therapy, physical education, or psychology.
• Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist certification per NCTRC standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic recreation services to clients on Ward/Unit and assess new clients within 7 working days of admission.
• Plan and establish daily, weekly and monthly recreation schedules for assigned patients; collaborate with care teams to develop individual and group programs.
• Conduct therapeutic groups and activities aligned with treatment goals to enhance patients' independence and well-being.
• Administer individual treatments as ordered by physicians and coordinate with staff considering patients' needs and conditions.
• Participate in Ward/Unit treatment team and cover for others when needed.

Education

Bachelor's degree in rehabilitation, recreation, therapy, physical education, or psychology
