Job summary

NYC Health + Hospitals/Sea View in Staten Island seeks a Therapeutic Recreation professional to plan, coordinate, and supervise person-centered recreation programs for residents. Under supervision, you will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver meaningful TR interventions, activities, and outings.

The role requires a baccalaureate degree and at least one year of full-time TR experience in healthcare; provisional vacancy.

Qualifications

• A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college.
• One year of full-time experience in planning, coordinating and supervising a recreation activities program in a hospital, health care or related facility.
• This is PROVISIONAL vacancy.
• Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Researches, plans, and implements person-centered therapeutic recreation programs tailored to residents’ routines, needs, and leisure interests.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary treatment team members and families to deliver effective TR interventions daily.
• Leads and facilitates person-centered recreation sessions and coordinates special events and outings as needed.
• Maintains and updates ActivityPro software system and generates reports as required.
• Documents TR plans and progress in PCC, including care plans, goals and assessments.
• Trains and mentors staff on new therapeutic techniques.
