Job summary

Canton Township is seeking a Therapeutic Recreation Programmer (Variable Hour) to plan and deliver community-based therapeutic recreation activities. You will work at multiple township facilities, coordinating programs, staff, and transportation for participants.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, at least 18 years old, and 2 years of experience with special needs populations. A valid Michigan driver’s license is required with CPI/CPR training within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Two years of experience working with special needs populations.
• Valid driver's license with driving history acceptable to employer.

Responsibilities

• Plan and program community-wide therapeutic recreation activities.
• Supervise participants and staff across township facilities.
• Transport participants in Township vehicles and chartered buses.
• Recruit and supervise part-time/seasonal staff as directed.
• Ensure safety rules and ADA accommodations are followed.
