Job summary

ACHIEVE NY in Broome County, NY is seeking a part-time Therapeutic Recreation Support Professional to plan, implement, and oversee the Recreation Respite Program and related leisure activities. The role involves coordinating activities across programs and assisting with participant transport and supervision.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED, some experience with individuals with functional differences, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Some direct experience with individuals with functional differences preferred.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and oversee the Recreation Respite Program and related activities.
• For Day Habilitation and Residential programs: research activities, create a calendar, prepare materials, and facilitate or provide directions to staff.
• Foster independent leisure pursuits by providing tools and supplies.
• Maintain and store recreation equipment and supplies properly.
• Assist with creating calendars for recreation activities offered to participants.
• Transport participants to activities as needed.
• Strive to meet American Therapeutic Recreation Standards of Practice.
• Provide supervision and direct care to program participants.
• Report incidents, accidents, violations, or safety concerns to the supervisor.
