Therapeutic Recreation Counselor - Adult

Salary Range: $9.00 - $13.50, anticipated starting rate: $11.25

Job Description: The Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission is seeking outgoing, enthusiastic, and dependable staff for its Afternoon Adventures program at Crooked Creek Park and Seven Oaks Park. Must be available Mon-Fri, 2:30-6:30 P.M and some half days and in-service days. Responsibilities include helping participants who may need additional support during activities, caring for participants' direct needs, and supporting participants throughout the activity. Some activities may include athletic and outdoor recreation, skill-building games and activities, and caretaking responsibilities such as assistance with feeding and toileting. Experience with people with cognitive, behavioral, or physical disabilities, special education, or recreation is preferred. Must be 16 years of age or older on the first day of employment.
