Job summary

Ochsner Behavioral Health Acadiana is seeking an Activity Coordinator to support therapeutic recreation under the supervision of the CTRS. You will help design and run individual and group activities aligned with Joint Commission, Federal and State regulations, and hospital mission.

You will contribute to treatment planning, participate in treatment team meetings, document progress in the medical record, and ensure age- and culturally sensitive communication with patients and families.

Qualifications

• Assists in providing therapeutic recreational activities per standards.
• Documents timely in the medical record.
• Communicates in an age/disability/culturally sensitive manner to patients and families.
• Identifies safety, psychosocial, mobility and equipment needs under CTRS.
• Assists in discharge planning according to age/disability/cultural needs.
• Performs chart audits with supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic recreational activities under CTRS supervision.
• Plan and conduct individual and group activities.
• Participate in treatment team meetings and report on patients.
• Document in the medical record.
• Communicate with patients and families in an age/disability/culturally sensitive way.
• Identify safety, psychosocial, mobility and equipment needs under CTRS direction.
• Assist in discharge planning with appropriate involvement of the patient’s support system.
• Respond to inquiry calls and assist in chart audits.
• Plan and conduct therapy as assigned by CTRS, Administrator, or physician orders.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
