Job summary

New Horizon Community Care (NHCC) is hiring Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) for our Therapeutic Recreation Program in Maricopa County. Earn $23–$27/hour with full benefits and a 4x10 shift schedule across Chandler and Phoenix locations.

As a Therapeutic Recreation BHT, you’ll lead activity-based groups, support youth with behavioral health goals, and collaborate with clinicians to provide structured, engaging programs. A valid AZ driver’s license and DPS fingerprint clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Must meet Arizona requirements for the BHT position.
• 21 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Arizona Driver's License and insurable driving record.
• Must be able to obtain an Arizona DPS Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card (Unrestricted)

Responsibilities

• Build positive, supportive relationships with youth and young adults.
• Lead and participate in sports, recreation, games, art, and movement-based activities.
• Facilitate therapeutic groups and skill-building activities.
• Encourage confidence, resilience, teamwork, and healthy coping skills.
• Support individualized treatment goals and behavior plans.
• Provide supervision and maintain a safe, structured environment.
• Assist with behavioral health documentation and case coordination.
• Provide support and crisis intervention when needed.
• Collaborate with clinicians, Team Leads, and other program staff.
• Serve as a consistent and positive role model for participants.
