Job summary

Roper St. Francis Healthcare is seeking a Radiation Oncology Physicist to support our Radiation Oncology department at Berkeley Hospital.

The role focuses on ensuring optimal treatment delivery through collaboration with the radiation oncologist, radiotherapists, and other staff, with emphasis on accurate prescription delivery. Qualifications include a Doctorate in Medical Physics (preferred) and ABR/ABMP certification or board eligibility.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Medical Physics preferred.
• Certification by ABR Therapeutic Radiological Physics or ABMP Radiation Oncology Physics is required or board eligible.
• 2 years of relevant experience or residency preferred, including treatment planning experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist radiation oncologist with physical and radiobiological aspects of treatments and development of treatment.
• Maintain acquisition and storage of data for treatment plans.
• Calculate dose distributions and machine settings for patient treatments.
• Design and fabricate treatment aids and beam modifiers.
• Ensure accuracy of treatment unit parameters and proper transfer of data between simulator, plan and unit; review patient charts regularly.
