Job summary

Northeast Family Services in Massachusetts is seeking a Therapeutic Mentor to provide positive role modeling for children and youth with behavioral-emotional needs. You will support skill-building in social situations, problem solving, and conflict resolution, applying age-appropriate strategies in home, community centers, after-school programs, or other family settings.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services field
Associate’s degree in a Human Services field with a minimum of one year of experience working with children, youth and families
High School diploma or equivalent (GED) with a minimum of two years of experience working with children, youth and families
Must be 21 years or older per state of Massachusetts CBHI program: Required
Experience working with children diagnosed with behavioural-emotional disorders or children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
Valid driver’s license with reliable and consistent access to a car

Access to a laptop or CPS, high speed secure internet, and a phone required for FFS positions

Responsibilities

Provide positive role modeling for children and youth with behavioral-emotional needs.
Assist children and youth to identify and capitalize on strengths to learn, practice and perform new positive interactions.
Support skills in social situations, problem solving and conflict resolution across home, community centers, after-school programs, or other locations.
