RFK Community Alliance in Lancaster, MA seeks experienced Barn Staff to support a therapeutic horsemanship program. Responsibilities include feeding, conditioning, basic medical care, and aiding riding instructors. Must handle physical work and maintain a clean facility in all weather.

Shifts include weekday and weekend hours to support lessons for students with special needs. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years at a riding facility, strong horsemanship, and a compassionate approach to working with

Qualifications

• 3-5 years’ experience at a fully operational riding/boarding facility.
• Equine first aid knowledge.
• Intermediate horsemanship skills.
• Experience with small farm animals is a plus.
• Stamina and strength for daily chores.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently with herd and animals.
• Compassion for working with people with special needs.

Responsabilités

• Contribute to the overall health of the horses and small farm animals.
• Morning and/or evening feeding of horses and small animals; turn in/out horses.
• Provide minor medical care to horses and small animals as required.
• Clean and maintain stalls, paddocks and animal habitats.
• Assist with veterinary and equine professional visits.
• Maintain facilities and grounds to ensure a clean, safe environment.
• Keep aisles, tack room, offices and storage free from debris.
• Receive and stack barn supplies such as grain and tack.
• Assist riding instructors with grooming and tacking for lessons.
• Provide lesson support as a leader or side-walker.
• Assist with conditioning of horses.
