National Center For Equine Fac seeks a dedicated barn assistant to support horses in therapy sessions, including grooming, tacking/untacking, and bringing horses to and from the arena.

Responsibilities include pre-session tack checks, weekly equipment inspections, monitoring horse behavior, feeding, and maintaining a clean work area. Opportunities may arise for demonstrations and fundraising activities throughout the year.

Qualificações

• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds repeatedly.
• Experience with horses or caregiving helpful.
• Willingness to participate in demonstrations and fundraising activities.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare therapy horses for sessions (grooming, tacking/untacking).
• Check all tack and fittings prior to each therapy session.
• Condition, clean and inspect all tack and equipment on a weekly basis; report any repairs needed.
• Closely monitor horse behavior and communicate any concerns to the Barn Manager.
• Feed horses lunch/dinner as needed.
• Maintain a clean, orderly and organized stall/barn/arena work area at all times.
• Participate in demonstrations and fundraising events as needed throughout the year.
• Help with the daily conditioning/warm up of all horses at the direction of the Barn Manager.
• Maintain current CPR and First Aid status.
