The Therapeutic Education Manager (TEM) is a key field-based member of the US Rare Blood Disorders Patient Services team. The TEM provides disease and product information and ongoing support, when appropriate, to ITP and aTTP patients.

The TEM establishes and maintains a strong working relationship with relevant HCP staff to provide education to ensure a seamless experience for patients. He/she is a subject matter expert on disease state, product, administration, and services.

The TEM works collaboratively with cross-functional team members to facilitate timely and ongoing access to therapy.

The TEM must also ensure full compliance with all corporate and industry policies and legal and regulatory requirements for all field activities.

Main Responsibilities:

HCP Site Education (40%)

  • Educate staff on disease, product, procurement, administration, and support services in accordance with approved resources post-prescription and/or shipment.
  • Educate healthcare providers to ensure they are well informed prior to treating prescribed patients with approved resources.
  • Develop and maintain account plans to support ongoing education. Utilize CRM to manage territory and record activities.
  • Conduct educational programming with HCP staff utilizing approved resources.

Patient Assistance (20%)

  • Ensure the patient is well educated and does not face unnecessary barriers to therapy.
  • Communicate any treatment barriers to the prescriber/office staff.
  • Collaborate with field partners to reduce overall cycle time for prescribed patient starts.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other field-based teams and case managers to support patient access, enrollment, and adherence to prescribed therapy.

Patient Education (40%)

  • Engage with ITP and aTTP patients to educate on disease and product using approved resources.
  • Conduct branded and unbranded patient education programs (live and virtual) for ITP and aTTP patients using approved resources.
  • Support ongoing adherence to prescribed therapy.
  • Identify opportunities to further support the ITP and aTTP communities, including representing Sanofi at local patient events.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient engagement within the CRM system.

About You

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

  • Communicate treatment barriers to prescribers/office staff.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Experience with medical and pharmacy benefit products.
  • Empathetic listening skills.
  • Language requirements: English required; bilingual Spanish preferred.
  • Technical skills to navigate and learn multiple complex platforms effectively.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree is required, with a nursing or clinical background preferred; an advanced degree is a plus. The TEM is not the patient's medical professional and must not be involved in care decisions or provide medical advice. Patients should always be referred to their provider for medical advice.
  • Previous commercial and/or clinical experience (hospital or home health) is required.
  • Experience in Rare Disease, Hematology/Oncology, Apheresis is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of account management and/or patient education industry experience preferred.
  • Previous product launch experience is preferred.
  • Ability to meet hospital credentialing requirements.

Requirements of the Job:

  • Ability to travel up to 60% within a territory; additional travel for meetings, trainings, and programs as necessary.
  • Ability to work occasional weekends and evenings for conferences, events, and other business needs.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
