Job summary

Encompass Health Corporation seeks a Nutrition Services Aide to support patient meals and staff dining in an inpatient setting. You will help prepare therapeutic and modified diets, assemble patient trays, and ensure food is served safely and on time.

The role emphasizes temperature control, recipe interpretation, and collaboration with the nutrition team to meet patients' dietary needs.

Qualifications

• Possession of a food handler's permit, as required by state/county rules.
• Training in preparing therapeutic diets is preferred.
• Recent institutional cooking experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety guidelines is preferred.
• May be required to work weekdays and/or weekends, evenings or nights.

Responsibilities

• Maintain proper temperatures for hot and cold foods.
• Interpret recipes and follow written/verbal orders.
• Break down carts and remove scraps from patient trays.
• Assemble and deliver late patient trays, supplements and special requests.
• Portion, weigh, and garnish food per menus and diet orders.
• Assemble patient trays to meet schedules.
• Assist patients in completing menus.
• Clean and sanitize all assigned areas.
• Plan and manage time effectively to complete tasks.
