Job summary

Qualifications

• Food handler's permit or compliant certification.
• Training in therapeutic diet food preparation.
• Recent institutional cooking experience preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain proper temperature for hot and cold foods.
• Interpret recipes and follow written/verbal orders.
• Break down carts and remove scraps from patient trays.
• Assemble/deliver late patient trays, supplements, and nourishments.
• Portion, weigh, and garnish food according to menus/diet instructions.
• Assemble patient trays to meet time tables.
• Assist patients in completing menus.
• Clean and sanitize all assigned areas.
• Organize, plan, and manage time effectively to complete assignments.
